Corrupted Memories & Other Selected Works
Corrupted Memories, 2022
The project, Corrupted Memories explores how our brains process and distort certain perceptions of time. As everyone of us grows and becomes older, our memories begin to change, adapt or are articulated differently with those who we converse with- allowing the brain to make assumptions of what did really happen? Or did it happen?
My goal for this project is to allow one to ask these questions and how they connect to their own lives. How much of what we know is really fiction? Where is the truth within how we as humans have evolved through the nature of story telling and what is represented of ourselves through time.
A Guiding Light, 2021
A Guiding Light, is a series of photographs in which I intended to depict a sense of longing to find oneself and the courage in which is needed to do so. However, the true ‘guiding light’ in reality, is a person who has had a profound influence on one or others. Thus the subject has taken this to heart to become that person (toxicity in-terms of becoming someone else and not their true-selves) and this series shows that progression to the point of wanting to ‘find themselves’ once again.
Zine: Match N’ Cheese, 2021
Match N’ Cheese began after compiling an archive of Tinder conversations and not knowing what to do with them during the beginning of the pandemic (March 2020). These conversations span from 2018 to late 2019- taking place in-between relationships and depict peoples opinions on how traditionally stovetop-made Kraft Dinner Mac n’ Cheese has microwave instructions and how it meets their expectations. The original concept came from a conversation with a previous partner, who on the night we broken up, asked if I had ever tried microwaving boxed Kraft Dinner Mac n’ Cheese, and thus I did- and decided to ask others if they too, have tried it.
